A little family fun!

Friday was a quiet evening as Grandma and Grandpa swung by as Mama was leaving for work, so Jana decided not to go to swim lessons.

Mama returned to a fabulous dinner of lime & cilantro rice and bean burritos (yummy) prepared by Daddy. Unfortunately, Kara soon started tugging on her left ear - the one that she just got done taking antibiotics for the ear infection. We resigned ourselves to another visit to the pediatrician. We're very frustrated that we can't get her in to the ENT until the 29th. About an hour after she fell asleep she woke up screaming. It took her a while to calm down and go back down. She was up and down the whole night... when we headed to the pediatrician the next morning, we found out why. Poor baby's got a perforated ear drum. The pressure from the ear infection was so bad, it burst her ear drum. :-(

So here we are on another round of antibiotics, the heavy duty ones this time. As soon as the pressure was relieved she started complaining about her right ear. Sure enough, the right one was bulging and the left was full of puss because it had burst.

She instantly went down for a nap when we got home and slept for about 5 hours. She was feeling better when she woke up, so we decided to try to distract her with a little trip to the local elementary school's playground. This perked her right up!

Hee, hee. Gotta love the crazy, static hair! :-)

"Hi Mama!" She had a wonderful time yelling that over and over from on the bridge.

Jana insisted on wearing her vest and the hood when it was 75 degrees out. Silly girl!

We've got a pair of monkeys! Oh, how they love to climb.

I am often hear the chorus "Anything you can do, I can do better!" playing in the background.

This playground had these great teeter totters. They were very tall though, so I have no idea how even the elementary kids can get on them.

They both loved them.

Have you ever noticed those moments when you think to yourself, "oh this will be a great shot of the kids together!" But then, they don't cooperate. No matter how many pics I took, we couldn't get a single one of them both looking good. Oh well.

Okay, let's try a different angle and see if we can be more successful.... nope! But we did get Jana in full pouting mode.

After playing and a bite to eat, we headed up to the Factory Stores for a couple of quick stops. Mama found some steals on some work clothes, but the girls were not so enthused about waiting, so Daddy and the girls went on a walk. They stumbled upon a catwalk set up for some kind of fashion show. Of course the girls had to climb up and strut their stuff. Pardon the bad pics - the lighting wasn't so good, but the girls were hilarious.

Here's Jana entertaining Daddy and all within ear shot with a little song.
Strike a pose.

Strut your stuff kiddo!
