Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was quiet and small. It was us, Gama, Gapa, Gramps, Uncle Days (Dave), Auntie Sawah (Sarah), and Uncle Patrick (Or Days as well, because she gets confused). We had a wonderful time, but certainly miss Auntie Meg.

It was a very casual day, filled with football, yummy cookies, and naps all around.

The highlight of Thanksgiving day for Jana was when Uncle Patrick started going through boxes of old stuffed "animos" (animals) and toys. Jana had a fabulous time checking everything out.

First she discovered the old wooden/magnetic "doot doot".

Then came the discovery of the old Hawks jacket - which Jana had to try on, of course.

Last came the pull-back cars. They were Disney character cars that spun around and zoomed forward when you pulled them back. They were incredibly entertaining for Jana, as you can see in this clip.

One of the most hilarious parts of the evening was this. They had been playing with some of the cars. Patrick asks where the rest of them are and Jana, of course, has all the answers. She actually was trying to look under her chair as if she knew exactly where they were.

Kara slept through dinner, but Jana joined us for the meal.

Auntie Sarah was so prepared to entertain Jana. There was coloring and even cookie decorating. Jana has a thing with frosting - she hates it, so I think she enjoyed eating them and watching Sarah decorate.

Just in case you were wondering - yes, Kara was there, too. Here she is hanging out with Uncle Dave and Gapa. This is nothing against her, but remember back to your first child and you had pictures and videos of him/her lying on the floor or being held. Now that we have a toddler who is very entertaining, I feel badly, but Jana seems to steal the show and a baby lying in the floor just isn't as interesting as it used to be.
