Grammy and Papa Visit

Grammy and Papa came last weekend for a visit. It was partially for Kara's birthday and partially for fun! It was so nice to have them here.

The girls instantly took to Papa again.

We headed out to breakfast on Friday morning at our favorite place. They are really nice and it's kind of a hole in the wall, but is the best place in town. We've been going to this place since my brother started going to college here in 1990. The girls were actually pretty good, despite spilling Cheerios EVERYWHERE.

Then we went on a short walk across the street to the park. It has a Carousel and a nice playground. This was Jana's first time at the Carousel, even though we've been to the playground a number of times.

Grammy wanted to see if Jana would sit on the horse and hold on. It wasn't until we were getting her off that we noticed the "Keep Off" sign that is directly behind her in the picture. Oops!

Anyway, she seemed to enjoy sitting there, so Grammy and Jana gave the Carousel a try.

She chose a horse called "Stardust", but of course it's on the inside, so it was really hard to get any pictures.

Kara and Papa enjoyed their time waiting for Jana, while Mama ran around taking pictures.

And then we were off to the playground where we ran into Karen and the twins.

Meltdown quickly ensued, so we headed for home, where Jana continued to entertain us while Kara napped.

We did a little yard work in preparation for our dinner party that night and Jana wanted to help me water the plants. She decided to water the tree - with water from the swimming pool.

This kept her happy and entertained for the longest time.

And finally she decided it was time to eat lunch. She insisted on "yellow cheese, crackers, and grapes." And she insisted on eating her lunch at "my yittle table and chair."

That night Suzanne, Brad and "Weck-ski" (Lexi) came over for dinner. We had a wonderful time catching up and enjoying some fabulous steaks, corn on the cob, and berries. Yummy!
